As an organisation that envisions a society where there is widespread freedom and prosperity, we have at the core of our work, the advancement of property rights among other freedoms. Property rights entail the freedom of individuals and entities to own properties, utilize their properties for their own interest, and exchange them of their own volition.

Driving Prosperity through Property Rights (DPPR) is our new project through which we aim to contribute to the improvement of land administration and registration in Southwest Nigeria. Through this project, we will engage stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, educate the people on property rights, and empower a few landowners to register their properties. This project will involve the 6 Southwest states: Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, and Lagos.

According to our executive director, Mr. Lanre Elufisan, “We want to advocate the improvement of land administration through the adoption of technology and research-driven policies that will ease land registration processes. We will bring together officials of the Ministries of Land and Housing from the six southwest states and operators from the real estate and technology sectors to foster practical ways to improve land administration.”

This project is partly funded by the Atlas Network. If you would like to support this project or be one of our sponsors for the Land and Housing Forum scheduled to be held in May 2024, kindly reach out to us via email (info@ominirainitiative.org) or donate directly here.
