The Ibadan Enterprise Dialogue, organized by the Ominira Initiative in partnership with Cirvee Academy, took place on Saturday March 22, 2025, at the University of Ibadan Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI). The dialogue, organized with support from the Whetstone Freedom Fund was centered on the theme “Leveraging Digital Technology for Business Growth,” and attracted entrepreneurs and business owners to explore strategies for integrating digital tools into their operations and to maximize profit.
The dialogue had 52 participants in attendance, including seasoned young entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy. In his keynote lecture titled “Utilizing Digital Tools to Maximize Profit,” John Fadejola, a Marketing and Brand Communications Strategist, emphasized the importance of adopting digital tools to enhance efficiency and drive revenue growth. Tailoring his insights to the Nigerian business landscape, he highlighted common digital tools such as Social Media Marketing Tools, E-commerce & Payment Solutions, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software, AI-powered Business Solutions, SEOs, among others that businesses could leverage for growth and profit maximization.
Following the keynote address was a panel session that delved deeper into the theme, discussing practical approaches for businesses to harness digital technology effectively. The pnelists shared experiences and strategies for overcoming challenges in the digital transformation journey.
As part of the Enterprise Dialogue, participants explored key lessons from “An Introduction to Entrepreneurship” by Eamonn Butler. During the review, Ominira Initiative’s Programs Manager, Temiloluwa Oyeniyi, emphasized the importance of applying these principles to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in the business landscape.
According to her, the book provides a foundational understanding of entrepreneurship, highlighting the role of innovation, risk-taking, and market competition in business success. She also encouraged participants to leverage the book’s insights to enhance their entrepreneurial mindset and improve their chances of building sustainable enterprises.
The event also featured the official launch of our new documentary film – Daily Bread. This documentary provides a glimpse into the lives of two individual entrepreneurs striving to overcome hunger and improve their livelihoods, representing the plights of millions of Nigerians.
Participants were encouraged to take advantage of the Enterprise Dialogue to expand their professional networks and build strategic partnerships. The networking session provided an opportunity for meaningful interactions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among entrepreneurs and business leaders. Attendees were urged to leverage the event to strengthen their social capital and explore new opportunities for business growth.
All participants at the dialogue received copies of ‘An Introduction to Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Foundations of a Free Society’ both written by Eamonn Butler.
