On the 15th of September 2022, Ominira Initiative organised its first Freedom in Nigeria conference at the Carlton Gate Hotel in Ibadan. The event, supported by Atlas Network, the Initiative for African Trade and Prosperity, and other individual donors, brought together scholars, trade experts, entrepreneurs, and young professionals for a series of panel discussions and keynote talks on trade entrepreneurship, and economic freedom.

Stakeholders have called on the government to consider harmonising the various policy inconsistencies to allow a better and convenient environment to promote entrepreneurship.

The stakeholders also agreed that entrepreneurship including micro, small, medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) have enormous capacity to address the economic challenges in the country.

The stakeholders including researchers, scholars, entrepreneurs also want the government to address the issues of power, access to funding, so as to make the environment business friendly for improved economic productivity and output.

Stakeholders have called on the federal government to address the plethora of challenges impeding entrepreneurship development in the country and also harmonise the various economic policies to allow for a better business environment.
